ABHES offers Accreditation Workshops several times a year. The workshops provide an opportunity for participants to gain a better understanding of the accreditation standards and procedures, as well as to share experiences with other schools striving towards meaningful self-evaluation. Other topics include but are not limited to creating and maintaining Program Effectiveness Plans, preparing for on-site evaluation visits, common errors, addressing citations, and commission actions.

Who should attend?

The Accreditation Workshops are open to anyone interested in learning about the ABHES accreditation process; however, a representative from each campus, if seeking an institutional grant of accreditation, or from each Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory Technology, and/or Surgical Technology program, if seeking a programmatic grant of accreditation is required to attend within 12 months of a Self-Evaluation Report (SER) submission (as directed by ABHES).

The individual(s) who attends the workshop representing the institution must be directly involved in the accreditation and self-evaluation process, (e.g., school director, director of education, or program director). In cases where the workshop attendee no longer represents the institution, a second individual with direct involvement must be appointed to fulfill those responsibilities and attend the accreditation workshop within 12-months of the position change and preferably prior to undergoing an on-site team visit.

If you register for an Accreditation Workshop and cannot attend, you may transfer your registration to another person at no charge. You may also cancel your registration up to 7 days prior to the day of a scheduled workshop, where a processing fee of $50 will be retained.
